Alfonso Cuarón is currently one of the most in demand directors out there right now. It was only a few months ago the Mexican filmmaker was swooping a ton of awards for his groundbreaking space thriller Gravity and more recently he’s been linked heavily with the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Now its looks like Warner Bros. have set their eyes on him for another spin-off – or rather a prequel – to Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining entitled The Overlook Hotel.

Schmoes Know are reporting that “two close sources with knowledge of the project” claim that the studio have apparently already offered Cuarón the position and are just waiting on an answer from him.
