Today marks the official start to the production of Selma, Paramount's Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. biopic starring David Oyelowo in the lead.  Filming in Atlanta, Georgia as well as Montgomery and Selma, Alabama, director Ava DuVernay's picture tells of the" historic struggle to secure voting rights for all people – a dangerous and terrifying campaign that culminated with the epic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, and led to President Johnson signing the Voting Rights Act of 1965." Selma also stars Carmen Ejogo as Coretta Scott King, Tom Wilkinson as Lyndon Baines Johnson, Andre Holland as Andrew Young,  Omar J. Dorsey as James Orange, Tessa Thompson as Diane Nash, and Colman Domingo as Ralph Abernathy.  Hit the jump for more.
