London — Helmer Anand Gandhi’s multi-lingual “Ship of Theseus” has won best feature at the Indian government’s annual National Film Awards.

The film also won best supporting actress for Egypt’s Aida El-Kashef, an award she shared with Amruta Subhash for the Marathi-language “Astu”.

Nagraj Manjule won debut feature for Marathi language “Fandry” and the film’s Somnath Avghade shared the child actor award with Sadhana for Tamil language “Thanga Meengal”.

Hansal Mehta won best director for the Hindi-language “Shahid.” The film also won best actor for Rajkummar Rao, an award shared with Suraj Venjaaramoodu for the Malayalam-language “Perariyathavar” that also won the award for best film on the environment.

Geethanjali Thapa won best actress for “Liar’s Dice” and the film also won best cinematography for Rajeev Ravi.

Saurabh Shukla won best supporting actor for “Jolly Llb.”

In the writing categories, P. Sheshadri won original screenplay for Kannada- »
