It's funny how so many on the Internet love to lament the lack of original storytelling in movies as sequels and reboots dominate the landscape. But mention some movie that was loved during the mid-'80s, when so many of today's movie-obsessed Internet commenters and bloggers grew up, and suddenly it's as if not only is a sequel something they want, but it becomes something to celebrate. director Richard Donner
telling the gossip site TMZ.com, "We're doing a sequel," and when asked who from the original cast is coming back his response was all-inclusive, "Hopefully all of them!" Oh, yes, hopefully. The last time I remember hearing about a possible Goonies II was about seven years ago when Sean Astin
made mention of a story that would center around the children of the original cast.
