Southcliffe and The It Crowd lead this year's Arqiva BAFTA Television Awards nominations.

Channel 4's bleak drama and cult sitcom both received four nods each, while the channel itself received a record total of 27 nominations.

Southcliffe is nominated in the Mini-Series category, while its stars Sean Harris (Leading Actor), Rory Kinnear (Supporting Actor) and Shirley Henderson (Supporting Actress) are also up for BAFTAs.

The It Crowd is eligible in the Situation Comedy Category - alongside another Graham Linehan creation Count Arthur Strong, plus Toast of London and Him & Her: The Wedding.

The recently-concluded comedy's stars Katherine Parkinson, Chris O'Dowd and Richard Ayoade have also all been nominated in their respective categories.

Broadchurch and The Village both received three nominations each.

ITV's whodunnit has been recognised in the following categories: Drama Series, Leading Actress (Olivia Colman) and Supporting Actor (David Bradley).
