Bradley Cooper will not be replacing Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, a Lucasfilm source has told Digital Spy.

According to a report on website Latino Review, The Hangover star was named as a possible new lead for the franchise with Disney reportedly considering recasting the role.

However, Lucasfilm said that the claim "isn't true", while Frank Marshall - producer on all four previous Indiana Jones outings - took to Twitter to rubbish the rumour.

Due to the ridiculous rumours that keep popping up, like agents pipe dreams, I will stop commenting on our projects until I have real news.

"I can only confirm that Katy Perry will Not be the new Indiana Jones," he later added.

The whip-cracking archaeologist has been portrayed by actors other than Ford in the past, with River Phoenix playing a younger version of the character in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. »
