AMC’s ‘Turn’: The Loyalists’ Rationale (Exclusive Video)
In a Variety exclusive teaser for AMC’s upcoming Revolutionary War spy drama, “Turn,” viewers get a look at the characters that make up the Loyalists.

“Pirates of the Caribbean’s” Kevin McNally plays Richard Woodhull, a staunch loyalist and a judge magistrate.

“Richard believes in law and order and doesn’t see how a nation without a king can effectively govern itself,” executive producer Craig Silverstein says in the clip.

This puts him in direct conflict with his son Abraham Woodhull (Jamie Bell), a member of the Culper Ring spies working for General George Washington during America’s War of Independence.

“Abe believes he should be in a free country and Richard believes it’s Ok to be royal subjects,” Bell says.

Viewers also get a look at the villain of the series, Lt. John Simcoe, who enforces the occupants of the crown.
