With 2013′s The Last of Us earning itself a major motion picture adaptation less than a year after its release, it is clear that the mark this game left on its players was profound enough that Screen Gems felt it should be spread to the masses. While the movie is almost guaranteed to be a success financially, it will have to be almost perfect for passionate fans of the game to call it anything near worth watching.

As history goes, the creation of this film will definitely be an uphill battle. This isn’t the first time a studio has tried to make a blockbuster hit out of games and it surely won’t be the last.
