Having become the highest grossing domestic (U.S.) release of 2013, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has now catapulted to number ten on the all-time North American box office list.

The second instalment in the now incredibly successful franchise has made an impressive $423,628,000 in the States since its release last November, and currently sits just shy of $865 million globally. Catching Fire has also surpassed its predecessor, The Hunger Games, which sits in 15th position domestically with $408 million and earned a total of $691 million around the world.

The penultimate film, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 opens in November, and will presumably challenge for a place in the top ten itself.
