Following the success of their hit comedy Ride Along, which has earned just over $120 million worldwide since its release last month, Universal Pictures is bringing back Ice Cube and Kevin Hart for Ride Along 2.

The original creative team from Ride Along is back for the sequel as well, with Tim Story directing from a script by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi. William Packer is also returning to produce, with the studio eyeing a late June/early July production start for the follow-up. No story details have been released, but there is talk that the plot will have a more multi-cultural appeal to expand the comedy's reach to other parts of the world. While the original Ride Along has done quite well domestically, earning $117.2 million, it has only made $3.4 million from six international territories, although the comedy will be expanding to more countries in the near future.
