This post is brought to you by the number zero (aka, the average Flappy Bird high score.)
The removal of Flappy Bird from digital shelves has been met with a flurry of tragedies — the death hoax of creator Dong Nguyen, to name just one — but leave it to Sesame Street to make it all better. The Sesame Workshop just rolled out Flappy Bert, a parody of the addictive mobile game, featuring everyone’s favorite jaundice unibrow aficionado, Bert!
While I’m a little surprised the good people at Sesame Workshop used a bluebird instead of a pigeon for the game — Bert loves pigeons, Fyi — I’m still absolutely in love with their latest in a long line of brilliant pop-culture spoofs. And the best part of all is that, because the game is catered to younger players, it’s a million times easier and less frustrating than the original Flappy Bird. »
