Warning: Don't keep reading if you would like to remain spoiler-free for the team figure skating opening competition, the ice dancing and women's short programs portion. They will be featured in primetime Saturday (Feb. 8) on NBC.

The U.S. had some ground to make up after the men's and pairs short programs in the team figure skating competition at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Both of those programs had some mistakes and after Thursday's competitions, Team USA was in seventh place. Only the Top 5 teams advance after the short program portion is concluded, so the U.S. needs big skates from ice dancers Meryl Davis and Charlie White and women's singles skater Ashley Wagner.

Davis and White did their part. They skated a beautiful program that was incredibly synchronized, which is something the judges look for. Their top score catapulted the U.S. into third place in the team standings.
