Bailing so soon, Shia? The actor has been criticized heavily recently, and apparently he’s done with it — on Jan. 10, Shia tweeted that he was retiring from “public life.” Do you believe him?

The past few weeks have not gone so well for Shia Labeouf, the actor who was once adored for his work on Even Stevens. But after getting flak for plagiarizing a beloved writer, and then getting into a Twitter argument with Lena Dunham, Shia announced on Jan. 10 that he has had enough and would be retiring from public life.

Shia Labeouf Announces Retirement

Shia has seemingly been headed off to the deep end for months, and this retirement is the nail in the coffin. The actor topped all of his controversial, questionable moments on Jan. 10 when he tweeted out of the blue:

In light of the recent attacks against my artistic integrity, I am retiring from all public life. »
