When Hayao Miyazaki announced his retirement last month, it was a sad month for the film industry and animation as an artform. But the animation house he co-founded with Isao Takahata, Studio Ghibli, lives on, and in the UK, we still have Miyazaki's final movie to look forward to - the period drama The Wind Rises.

The makers of The Simpsons pays a warm tribute to the Miyazaki's work in the next episode, which airs this Sunday in America. The context of the scene, which you can watch below, isn't exactly clear - Homer's drunk as usual, but who's the chap with him? - but that hardly matters. The fun's in spotting all the references to Studio Ghibli's classic movies. »
