The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has been named the Best Film of 2013 by Digital Spy readers.

Over 22,600 people voted in the complete survey for the sequel, beating turn-of-the-year release Les Misérables into second place.

The movie's star Jennifer Lawrence also won the Best Actress vote, while Star Trek Into Darkness's villain Benedict Cumberbatch was named Best Actor.

The top five in each movie category were as follows:

1. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire - 24.3%

2. Les Misérables - 12.6%

3. Gravity - 12.5%

4. Star Trek Into Darkness - 10.2%

5. Iron Man 3 - 7.4%

Best Actress

1. Jennifer Lawrence (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) - 39.4%

2. Sandra Bullock (Gravity) - 19.6%

3. Anne Hathaway (Les Misérables) 15.2%

4. Judi Dench (Philomena) - 9.4%

5. Emma Thompson (Saving Mr Banks) - 9.1%

Best Actor

1. Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek Into Darkness) - 20.4%

2. Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man 3) - 17.3%

3. Tom Hanks (Captain Phillips) 15.6%

4. Ryan Gosling (The Place Beyond the Pines) - 11.9%
