For months, Vin Diesel has teased working with Marvel on a yet-unknown intellectual property and voicing Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy. However, up until today, the Fast and the Furious star was the only one confirming the latter, while director James Gunn and Marvel producer Kevin Feige declared he was all but confirmed. Well, both Diesel and Gunn have made it official today with a photo of the actor posing with a movie-accurate bust of the walking, talking tree-like character. “Vin Diesel is a super awesome dude, I can't tell you how much I like this guy,” commented James Gunn via Facebook. “I hope this [photo] puts to rest all the silly Thanos-Vin stuff which people just seemed to make up out of nothing.” The director adds that Diesel was never announced initially: “He said he wanted to do it and we said we were talking to him.
