The cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past reads like a who's who of the X-Men franchise, but it seems we'll be getting one less mutant when the film arrives next year, with Bryan Singer revealing to Entertainment Weekly that Anna Paquin's role as Rogue has been cut from the eagerly-anticipated time-travel sequel.

"Through the editing process, the sequence became extraneous," explains Singer, referring to a rescue scene that would have featured Rogue alongside Magneto (Ian McKellen), Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Iceman (Shawn Ashmore). "It’s a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it. But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go.
