Ellen DeGeneres has fronted the first trailer for next year's Academy Awards.

The promo, directed by Bridesmaids' Paul Feig, sees DeGeneres and 250 tuxedo-clad men and women dancing to Fitz and The Tantrums track 'The Walker'.

Filmed on the backlot at Warner Bros, Feig said that he wanted the promo's message to be "that everyone gets to go to the Oscars this year".

DeGeneres quipped of the trailer: "Paul Feig has a reputation of being hilarious and nice and smart and I thought this was a great idea. I loved it. And I want to be in Bridesmaids 2, so two plus two - great Oscar promo, Bridesmaids 2, cher-ching!"

The Academy Awards nominations will be announced on January 16, 2014, while Oscars will be presented on March 2.
