After being the mother of dragons on "Game of Thrones," the HBO series star is now the mother of John Connor. Variety reports Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen in the fantasy adaptation, has landed the role of Sarah Connor in Terminator: Genesis after being pegged an early favorite when testing with actresses like Brie Larson (21 Jump Street, Short Term 12) and Margot Robbie, though the latter never read for the part. Now the deal is done and Clarke is on board the film after we learned Zero Dark Thirty star Jason Clarke (no relation) entered talks to play her son John Connor. Now Kyle Reese needs to be cast. In the original film, Kyle Reese saves Sarah Connor from the first Terminator sent back in time to prevent John Connor from being born and leading a fight against Skynet and the machines.
