NBC has ordered a four-hour miniseries from Lionsgate TV based on Ira Levin's classic 1967 horror novel "Rosemary's Baby".

The story follows a young married couple who move into a Paris apartment with a haunted past. Quickly becoming pregnant, the wife becomes increasingly suspicious that her husband and neighbors have sinister plans for her baby.

The property was famously adapted by Roman Polanski into the groundbreaking 1968 psychological thriller film. The new version updates the story for contemporary times.

Scott Abbott ("Introducing Dorothy Dandridge") and James Wong ("American Horror Story") have adapted the screenplay, while Agnieszka Holland ("Treme," "Europa, Europa") will direct.

Casting will begin immediately and filming is slated to begin next month in Paris.
