‘Bates Motel’ Beauty To Play ‘Ouija’

Currently best known for her role in A&E’s contemporary take on Psycho – prequel series Bates Motel - British actress Olivia Cooke has signed on for more fear duty in former visual-effects specialist Stiles White’s directorial debut, Ouija. She joins the already cast of rising newcomers Douglas Smith and Daren Kagasoff in the big-screen adaptation of the spooky Hasbro board game believed to allow us to contact the dead.

The film comes from a script by White and his frequent collaborator Juliet Snowden (The Possession) and follows the familiar trend of high school students investigating the death of a girl at their school, after she’d been using an Ouija board.

The project has moved back and forth between Universal and Paramount and has now settled at Universal, thanks to a collaboration between the iconic studio, Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes, Hasbro and Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions.
