It’s taken quite some time to get off the ground but the big-screen transition of the cult action series The Equalizer is now in post-production. Denzel Washington takes the title role of Robert McCall, previously portrayed by the late, great Edward Woodward. It also marks the first collaboration in over 12 years for Oscar-winning Washington and his Training Day director Antoine Fuqua.

The updated plot could almost play as a sequel to the superb Man On Fire, with a focus on veteran covert operative McCall, a man seeking redemption for his past dark deeds in carrying out ruthless missions on behalf of the Us government. He’s now offering his skills to those in desperate need as a classified advertisement in the local newspaper – “Got a problem? Odds against you? Call The Equalizer.”

Check out the first still from The Equalizer, which co-stars Chloe Grace Moretz, Marton Csokas and Melissa Leo. »
