Martin Freeman's Bilbo Baggins gets the Lego treatment, turn a cupcake into a Hobbit House – and Captain Picard wants snow

This week, the stars turned out in force for the premiere of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Peter Jackson's second film in The Hobbit trilogy follows Bilbo Baggins, played by Martin Freeman, and his mob of dwarves as they continue to try to steal their gold back from the evil dragon Smaug. The film, based on Jrr Tolkien's book, is released on 13 December in the UK and Us and 26 December in Australia. We've got a couple of wacky takes on the movie – which looks like becoming another blockbuster. Lego has turned the film trailer into a different kind of "build-up" and we've also got the ultimate Hobbit House cupcake for you to make.

If you think cupcakes are cute, wait until you have watched our Christmas Pugs clip. »
