We're still a little way away from Bryan Singer bringing his original X-Men universe and the cast of X-Men: First Class in 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past, but it seems as though the director has some more tricks up his sleeves.

If Mr. Singer's Twitter feed is to be believed, we might be getting an appearance from Apocalypse in an X-Men movie slated for 2016.

First appearing in X-Factor #5 in 1986, Apocalypse has become one of the most popular villains of the X-Men series and has featured in the animated series, trading cards and video games. In 2008, he was ranked #3 in Marvel's Top 10 X-Men villains and was placed 24th in IGN's Greatest Comic Book Villans of All Time.

A sign of things to come, or just the director playing a few tricks on the fanboys and girls? No official word from 20th Century Fox at this time. »
