The Writers Guild of America (WGA) has announced nominations for the 2014 Writers Guild Awards, which will take place on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at simultaneous ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York. Proving once again that the best-written shows (especially dramas) are on cable TV, here are your 2014 WGA nominees for television. Another year without a nomination for Scandal, which I'm sure the "Gladiators" won't be too pleased about. But, as I said, cable TV shows dominate in the dramatic categories. It's been that way for years now. And in terms of "black shows," or shows with significant black characters in prominent roles, Orange Is The New Black is nominated in 3 different categories.
