Milestone Films, in partnership with The Film Foundation, has announced the launch of a North American tour of the 21 film retrospective "Martin Scorsese Presents: Masterpieces of Polish Cinema." Beginning in New York at the Film Society of Lincoln Center on Feb. 5, the tour will hit more than 30 major cities in the U.S. and Canada throughout 2014 and 2015. The films span from 1957-1987 and have all undergone extensive digital re-mastering and restoration to newly subtitled DCPs. Scorsese handpicked the films from from of Poland's most lauded and accomplished filmmakers.  "There are many revelations in the 'Masterpieces of Polish Cinema' series, and whether you're familiar with some of these films or not, it's an incredible opportunity to discover for yourself the great power of Polish cinema, on the big screen in brilliantly digital masters," Scorsese said in a statement.  Scorsese received and honorary doctoral degree from The Polish National Film, Television and. »
