The theme of “Body Horror” is well-known among genre fans through countless stories, films and works of art that focus on our fears of death, disease and old age, and the way those fears shape our psyches and fuel our nightmares.   Images by Francesco Albano   Sculptor Francesco Albano takes that concept to a whole new extreme with his horrific life-size works, which reduce the human body to its basic elements, stripped of clothing and hair – and in many cases muscle, bone and internal organs.   Images by Francesco Albano   Albano's works range from grotesque, faceless caricatures of the human form to twisted abominations reminiscent of concepts by Clive Barker and David Cronenberg.
