Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, the writing/directing team behind gory horror 'The Collector' and follow-up sequel 'The Collection', have sold their pitch to adapt horror book series 'Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark'. The franchise authored by Alvin Schwartz features a whole variety of scary tales, folklore and urban legends all adapted by Schwartz over a series of 3 terrifying books. CBS Films have acquired the idea from the duo and will team with 1212 Entertainment and the Sean Daniel Company, who optioned the rights, to produce a feature based on the stories whereby 'a group of outcast kids who stand up to their fears to save their town when nightmares come to life.' »
