DreamWorks Animation has announced a new Turbo television series.

Turbo Fast will be an original series airing exclusively on Netflix worldwide.

The first five episodes of the series, based on the big screen animation, will be available to stream on Christmas Eve.

Additional episodes will then premiere throughout 2014, the studio announced today (December 3).

Turbo Fast is the first ever Netflix original series intended for children.

Veep actor Reid Scott will provide the voice of Turbo, while Ken Jeong will reprise his role of Kim Ly.

DreamWorks and Netflix entered into a partnership back in the summer, with the studio developing over 300 hours of original programmes based on its characters and franchises.

Turbo starred the likes of Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L Jackson, and is centred around a garden snail who dreams of being the greatest racer in the world. »
