Juhi Chawla has been cast in the Steven Spielberg-produced film The Hundred-Foot Journey.

The movie tells the story of an Indian family who relocate to a small village in France, where they open an Indian restaurant opposite a French one run by a woman named Madame Mallory, played by Helen Mirren.

Starring East Is East actor Om Puri, Chawla will portray his wife in the film, which is currently being shot on location in Mumbai.

Puri recently said that he shares a great rapport with co-star Helen Mirren.

The Hundred-Foot Journey is based on the Richard C Morais novel of the same name and is co-produced by Oprah Winfrey and Juliet Blake.

The film is directed by Oscar winner Lasse Hallstrom.

46-year-old Chawla has also been shooting for Gulaab Gang, in which she stars with Madhuri Dixit. »
