"Forgetting Sarah Marshall" director Nicholas Stoller has come onboard to rewrite the script for "Uptown Saturday Night," a remake of the 1970s Bill Cosby-Richard Pryor comedy at Warner Bros. Pictures and Overbrook Entertainment.

Will Smith and Denzel Washington will star in the Adam McKay-directed project about two friends who sneak out to visit a high-class but illegal club. Trouble soon follows.

Stoller plans to a deliver a draft in the next month. Both stars must be happy with the latest draft or the project won't happen.

If it does go ahead, McKay wants this to be his next film with shooting to begin in the Summer. Smith and James Lassiter are producing.
