BBC Worldwide has responded to the latest rumours surrounding Doctor Who missing episodes.

All seven episodes of classic 1964 serial 'Marco Polo' - starring William Hartnell as the first Doctor - are rumoured to have been recovered, but a spokesperson told Digital Spy that they could not confirm the find.

"There are always rumours about missing episodes of Doctor Who but we cannot confirm any new finds," a BBC Worldwide source said.

Last month, it was revealed that two missing Who stories from Patrick Troughton's era - 1967's 'The Enemy of the World' and 1968's 'The Web of Fear' - had been discovered in Nigeria.

Doctor Who's 50th anniversary episode 'The Day of the Doctor' airs tomorrow night (Saturday, November 23) at 7.50pm on BBC One.

It will also be simulcast worldwide, and screened in cinemas around the globe.
