We've only got two more Hobbit movies to look forward to, so it's about time someone figured out a way to continue to cash in on J.R.R. Tolkien's legacy. So how about a biopic? Variety reports Fox Searchlight and Chernin Entertainment are teaming up to create Tolkien, a drama that will reveal the life story of the author behind The Lord of the Rings. Said to be in the vein of the J.M. Barrie biopic Finding Neverland, Tolkien will include scenes from the writer's time in World War I while integrating elements of the fantasy novels he's known for. David Gleeson, who has previously penned the dramedy Cowboys and Angels, will write the screenplay. David Ready, who brought the project to Chernin Entertainment, will oversea its production for the company.
