A CGI/live-action hybrid movie inspired from the Paddington Bear book series , which were first published in 1958 and have sold over 35 million copies world-wide, will be released in the United States on December 12th, 2014, two weeks after its UK release on November 28th.

The movie is produced by David Heyman (Gravity, Harry Potter) and stars Nicole Kidman (Stoker), Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey), Sally Hawkins (Blue Jasmine), Jim Broadbent (Filth), Peter Capaldi (The Thick of It) and Julie Walters (Harry Potter), with Colin Firth (The King's Speech) voicing the titular bear.
