The CW is making some noise over its three new fall dramas, but the question is whether that noise is truly warranted. It’s no secret that the CW doesn’t bring in nearly the same size audiences as regular broadcast networks, so it judges the success of its shows a little differently. Still, I’m wondering if perhaps the network is cutting its new dramas a little slack because it’s simply getting a little too difficult to get high ratings these days. The CW can’t punish every show with cancellation, so instead its giving out full season orders, seemingly as incentives to try harder to build their audiences.

Each of the dramas were given back nine orders, which is a follow up to the three additional scripts the CW had ordered back in October. President Mark Pedowitz said in a statement that the CW was seeing an increase in ratings year-to-year, »
