Since the "Saw" franchise, director James Wan has created several more horror franchises. But Lionsgate isn't giving up on "Saw." According to Bloody-Disgusting, the studio is now in active development on the eighth installment. The last time a new "Saw" film was in theaters was back in 2010 with "Saw 3D," which grossed $136 million on a budget of $20 million. That was on par with expectations. Clearly there's still money to be made from the franchise. Lionsgate isn't rushing to make "Saw 8." In fact, the studio is taking its time to come up with a new direction for the franchise in hopes of taking Halloween back from "Paranormal Activity." »
