Sky Atlantic adaptation of Scandinavian thriller The Bridge drops from audience of 433,000 for debut

The third outing of Sky Atlantic's remake of The Bridge was watched by 242,000 viewers on Wednesday. The serial-killer drama The Tunnel, starring Stephen Dillane and Clemence Poesy, held on to most of the 257,000 viewers who watched the second episode last week, although it has dipped from the 433,000 who watched the debut of the Scandi thriller adaptation on 16 September.

The launch programme's audience, although modest by mainstream standards, was spectacular for Sky Atlantic, up 1,438% on its three-month slot average. For comparison, Game of Thrones returned with more than 700,000 viewers earlier this year, while the second series of Aaron Sorkin's The Newsroom finished with 73,000 viewers earlier this week.

All ratings are Barb overnight figures, including live, +1 (except for BBC channels) and same day timeshifted (recorded) viewing, but excluding on demand, or other – unless otherwise stated. Figures for BBC1, BBC2, ITV, »
