Sony Pictures Television has sold rights to biz competition format “Dragon’s Den,” known in the U.S. as “Shark Tank,” for versions that will air in Germany and Spain.

In Germany, Spt’s local unit will produce the local version of the show for private broadcaster Vox, which is part of the Rtl Group. The German version, which will go into production in January 2014, will be called “Die Hohle des Lowen,” or “Lion’s Den.” Spanish shingle Pulso TV will produce the Spanish version for Spain’s pubcaster Tve.

Spt’s “Dragon’s Den” deals mark the latest of many local versions for the show, a global hit, already produced in countries comprising Australia, Canada, Russia, and Saudi Arabia.
