If the release of GTA V proved anything last week, it’s that there are still huge profits to be made in the videogame industry, and it looks like Hollywood has finally begun waking up to that fact. Amongst the various game-to-movie adaptations currently in development is DreamWorks’ Need for Speed, and it’s not long before it hits cinemas next year.

After the first images from the movie were released last week, the studio has now launched the first trailer over on Apple, giving the first glimpse at the action blockbuster hitting cinemas in the spring.

An exciting return to the great car-culture films of the 1960s and ’70s, when authenticity brought a new level of intensity to the action, “Need for Speed” taps into what makes the American myth of the open road so enticing.
