The Smurfs 2 has entered the weekend Australian box office chart at number one.

The second in the computer-animated franchise, starring Neil Patrick Harris, Hank Azaria and the voice of Katy Perry as Smurfette, made its debut with Au$2,041,555, knocking White House Down from the top spot.

Riddick also made its debut on the Australian box office chart, entering in the second spot with Au$1,307,853 of earnings.

Blue Jasmine lands at number four as the week's third big new entry, narrowly missing White House Down by about Au$200,000.

Now You See Me stayed strong at number five this weekend, managing to amass Au$15,039,617 over six weeks in the chart.

We're The Millers and Elysium also enjoyed their fifth week in the chart, sticking at number six and seven respectively.
