Paralympic gold medal winner Richard Whitehead has been given a support car with a TiVo set and 50" plasma TV screen as he runs across the country for charity.

Double-leg amputee Whitehead has been given the service by his sponsors Virgin Media to watch classic movies as he goes from John O' Groats to Land's End, completing 40 marathons in 40 days in aid of Scope and Sarcoma.

"My main motivation for the run is to prove that anyone can live a life without limits," Whitehead -

who was awarded his MBE in January 2013 for his services to athletics - said.

"My biggest challenge besides the blisters and sore hips is the repetition of running for 40 days and keeping myself motivated and in good spirits.

"Watching Chariots of Fire whilst running was brilliant - seeing one my favourite movies on my own mobile cinema was perfect for helping me get over some serious hills. »
