Stephen Colbert had booked a rare TV performance by the costumed electro-pop duo Daft Punk as part of Colbchella 2013. That is, until  Colbert found out Daft Punk wouldn’t perform on Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report because sister Viacom network MTV had exclusively and secretly booked the group for its Video Music Awards.
