Chris Evans to Make Directorial Debut With '1:30 Train' Before Filming 'Avengers 2'

Chris Evans is an intelligent, magnetic, and commanding man -- things that make him an ideal Captain America, the star-spangled Marvel role he recently reprised for next spring's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."

Those same qualities should also come in handy as he mounts his first feature project as director. Deadline reports that Evans will step behind the camera for "1:30 Train," a romantic drama based on a script by Ron Bass ("Rain Man," "My Best Friend's Wedding"), before taking up his Captain American shield once again for Joss Whedon's "Avengers: Age of Ultron" early next year.

The script is described as being in the same vein as Richard Linklater's "Before" movies, "focusing on two strangers who meet in Manhattan and spend one night together as the conflicts in their own lives become the basis for their exploration of each other and themselves." Sounds juicy!
