“Tim’s Vermeer,” helmed by Teller of illusionist-comedians Penn & Teller and a recent Sony Pictures Classics acquisition, is one of 14 documentary features world-preeming this September at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Toronto will also see the world preems of Greek Diy hero Yorgos Servetas’ “Standing Aside, Watching,” which opens City to City, and France-born splat-pack director Alexandre Aja’s “Horns,” starring Daniel Radcliffe (seen above) and Juno Temple in a paranormal chiller, in Vanguard.

The fest unveiled programming for its Tiff Docs, City to City (this year spotlighting features made in Athens, Greece), Vanguard and Cinematheque programs on Tuesday, July 30, 2013. Nine pics in Midnight Madness, including world-preeming slate opener “All Cheerleaders Must Die,” were announced Monday at midnight.

Other world-preeming U.S. docs include: Jehane Noujaim’s in-depth snapshot of Egyptian protesters “The Square,” which screened as a work-in-progress at Sundance and completed filming a few weeks ago; John Maloof »
