After a year off from the popular FX frightfest, Denis O'Hare is returning to "American Horror Story" for its third season, subtitled "Coven."

Creator Ryan Murphy announced the casting on Twitter, but did not provide any further details about O'Hare's role in the witchy saga. O'Hare previously played burned man Larry Harvey on the first season of "American Horror Story" and then did not appear in Season 2's "Asylum."

O'Hare joins an ever-growing cavalcade of stars appearing in "Coven," including previously-announced new faces Kathy Bates and Gabourey Sidibe, plus Angela Bassett and Patti Lupone, in addition to returning cast members Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson and Jessica Lange.

"American Horror Story: Coven" premieres in October 2013. »
