In case you were aware, earlier this year, CBS commissioned a pilot to turn the Eddie Murphy film franchise Beverly Hills Cop into a TV series. However, the show would have followed Tropic Thunder star Brandon T. Jackson as Aaron Foley, son of the infamous Axel Foley from the film series, as he dealt with criminals in the vicinity of the rich and famous in California’s most famous zipcode. Murphy and franchise co-star Judge Reinhold even appeared in the pilot. However, the network passed on the pilot, and it hasn't been picked up elsewhere. But that doesn't mean there isn't more Beverly Hills Cop coming. EW noticed a series of tweets from "The Shield" creator Shawn Ryan, who was behind the pilot for Beverly Hills Cop, and while the TV series adaptation seems to be dead for the time being, there might be renewed studio interest in the film franchise. »
