"It's not so easy to tame him in real life." Today's indie trailer is for a documentary that, on one hand looks totally awesome profiling a badass Japanese "boxing" abstract artist/painter, and on the other hand looks completely charming, profiling his wife of 40 years and her "cutie" illustrations. Starring artists Ushio & Noriko Shinohara, this doc is much more about exploring their "chaotic 40-year marriage" and how these two manage to work together and stay together, despite being so different. When I first heard about this, I brushed it off, but after watching the trailer it's now one of those must-see docs I'm hoping I can catch soon. Watch the official trailer for Zachary Heinzerling's doc Cutie and the Boxer, in high def from Apple: Once a rising star in the ‘70s New York art scene, 80-year-old "boxing" painter Ushio Shinohara hopes to reinvigorate his career as he preps for his latest show. »
