Us channel Lifetime is to launch in the UK this autumn.

The channel has made a number of Us TV acquisitions, including Glenn Close legal drama Damages.

The fourth season of Damages will make its UK premiere on Lifetime - its previous three seasons having aired on the BBC.

Jennifer Love Hewitt series The Client List, Queen Latifah TV movie Steel Magnolias and Lindsay Lohan's Elizabeth Taylor biopic Liz & Dick will also air on the channel.

In addition, Lifetime UK has ordered its first original commission - The Proposers follow two women who help to organise unorthodox marriage proposals.

Daisy Amodio and Tiffany Wright formed their business in 2012 and have organised events including a flash mob choir on the London Eye, a choreographed ice dance, a surprise marching band and a Bollywood performance to help real-life Romeos pop the question.
