In summer 2011, Bridesmaids took the box office by storm, and talk immediately turned to a sequel. The studio wanted it and fans wanted it, but the one person who wanted nothing to do with it was writer/star Kristen Wiig.
Fast-forward almost two years, and Wiig stands by that choice.
“It wasn’t a hard decision,” she told Harper’s Bazaar for a profile in the July issue. “We knew during the first one, this was it. We would have made a lot of money if there was a second one, but that’s not my goal in my creative life. »
