It has been announced that Rosemarie DeWitt is in final negotiations to star opposite Jeremy Renner in Kill The Messenger.  Directed by Michael Cuesta, the film is based on the true story of a reporter who becomes the target of a CIA smear campaign when he linked the intelligence agency to a scheme to arm Contra rebels in Nicaragua and import cocaine into California. DeWitt and Renner are the only members of the cast announced so far.

Renner, twice Oscar-nominated for The Town and The Hurt Locker, will play the journalist Gary Webb, but as of yet there is no character name for DeWitt, who has recently won more prominent roles in The Odd Life Of Timothy Green, The Watch, Mad Men and as Charmaine Crane in the United States Of Tara. It looks like she’s definitely one to watch.
